Head Coach: Casey Smith

Coach Smith brings over 25 years of coaching experience to Northgate High School, returning to a program where his career first began. Most recently, he served as the defensive coordinator at Callaway High School in LaGrange, where he played a key role in building highly competitive teams.
Throughout his career, Coach Smith has been part of programs that have achieved tremendous success, including two state championships and five region titles. His impact extends beyond wins and losses, as he has helped develop over 130 college signees and five NFL players.
A Georgia native and former Newnan resident, Coach Smith is excited to return to a community he and his family have always loved. His coaching philosophy is rooted in building strong relationships, developing young men on and off the field, and creating a lasting legacy within the program.
Coach Smith previously coached at Northgate early in his career before continuing his journey at Sandy Creek High School and other successful programs. Now back with the Vikings, he is focused on bringing that experience full circle instilling tradition, discipline, and a championship mindset.
As Northgate enters a new era of leadership and competition at the Class 7A level, Coach Smith is committed to building a program defined by hard work, unity, and pride.
